On June 19, 2025, RBA will bring together leaders and experts in finance, policy and research
for the 2025 Banking Research Conference, to be held at Serena Hotel in Kigali. This year’s
conference will delve into the evolving landscape of Rwanda’s credit market, under the theme:
“Credit Market Dynamics in Rwanda: Technology, Regulation and Competition.”

The annual conference provides a platform for dialogue among banking professionals,
policymakers, researchers, and technology innovators to address critical trends shaping
Rwanda’s financial sector. This year’s conversations will center on how digital transformation,
regulatory frameworks, and market competition are influencing credit access, risk management,
and consumer protection.

The one-day event will feature:

  • Research presentations from local and international economists
  • Keynote speeches from high-profile speakers in the financial and policy sectors
  • A panel discussion on balancing Innovation and Regulation in Rwanda’s Competitive
    Credit Market
  • Networking sessions with key players in the financial services ecosystem

Participants will include representatives from the National Bank of Rwanda, commercial banks,
microfinance institutions, Insurance, academia, research institutions, fintech startups, and
development partners.
