Kigali, Rwanda – July 29, 2025, The Rwanda Bankers’ Association (RBA) is pleased to announce the 6th edition of the Interbank Sports Tournament, set to begin on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, and conclude on 6th September 2025, under the theme “Healthy Bankers, Stronger Banking Industry.”
The tournament aims to promote employee wellness, teamwork, unity, and a spirit of collaboration within Rwanda’s banking sector, by encouraging active participation in sports, supporting the physical and mental well-being of banking professionals.
In addition to promoting physical health and team spirit, the tournament is a platform for networking and cross-institutional interaction among employees in the banking sector, providing an opportunity to connect outside formal work environments.
This year’s tournament will feature bank staff from nine banking institutions operating across the country, competing in four different disciplines: Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Swimming. Matches will be hosted at different venues across Kigali: Tapis Vert for Football, Lycée de Kigali for Basketball, Maison de Jeunes Kimisagara for Volleyball, and Green Hills Academy for Swimming.
A notable addition to this year’s edition is the introduction of cash prizes for the winning teams. Ahead of the tournament, an official press conference will be held on July 31st, 2025, where team draws will take place.
